LINE CLEAR!!! (10/2 - 14/2)

yes...i did... i went to penang :)

then again, the main reason for the trip was to attend a friend's wedding at jerai, kedah. but.. penang is a better place to hang out than aloq staq kan? hehehe :P

so i contacted another friend who lives in nibong tebal, who's also invited to the wedding. and i got myself a tourist guide. or so i thought :P

so the plan was on. went there five days. we'll spend two days in kedah to shoot the wedding.. (the bride hired me as the wedding photographer at the very last minute.. ) and two more days to "tour" penang :) yeah right.. :p

i accidentally bought the first flight out to penang. so yon had to wake up really early to come and get me at the airport.. hahaha darn. i think even the roosters were not up yet hahahha.. sorry yon :)

our first stop of course to eat.. yon had to take me to her favorite nasi kandar joint. nahh.. i didn't eat anything. simply because i already had bihun goreng special with sambal sotong at the airport. haha girls gotta eat when girls gotta eat! after breakfast, we got on the car. while yon is driving i was googling for places of interest. and all of a sudden i remembered about rumah p. ramlee that's been advertised on astro for quite sometime.. so we googled rumah p. ramlee to get the address. and set our gps and headed to our first pit stop.

it's actually allahyarham p. ramlee's grandmother's old house in penang. he used to live there when he was a child and they turned the house into a museum, and build another small museum to keep artifacts and photos from his lifetime. it's kinda creepy probably coz we're the only ones there.. kinda neat too.. the house is really cool too.. it's really small.. made me wonder how they managed in such a small space. there's only one room, there's an L-shaped living room and a kitchen.

after a quick drink, and googling where to go next, we decided we should go to Penang Hill. Someone (ahem *yon*) wanted so much to ride the cable car. little that we know, the cable car was still closed for maintenance. haha... sorry yon.. perhaps my next trip to penang.. we'll ride the cable car haha :P

as it was nearing lunch time, we decided to proceed to the famous nasi kandar joint.. Line Clear. usually traffic in penang would be impossible. we weren't sure why, but the traffic that day was clear. (hence the title of this entry)

Komtar used to be the main attraction in Penang.

So with two GPSs, we looked for our way to Line Clear. Having lived and worked in Penang for 6 years, i'm surprised that yon has never tried Line Clear Nasi Kandar.. hahaha.. biar betik? we circled the area twice only to find that the famous nasi kandar restaurant is not even a proper restaurant. it's actually and alley between two shop buildings which has a sign says line clear. dang..

Line Clear. opened 24 hours.. yummy finger licking nasi kandar.. hehe :p

after lunch we went to queensbay mall.. to walk the food off.. haha.. after 2 glasses of soy milk and half a tau fu fah.. yon took me home to nibong tebal.

we planned to continue our exploration on my 4th day in Penang. but ermm.. we got lazy. hehe.. i'd love to go again tho.. maybe next time i'll bring a friend, and stay in penang island instead. then it'd be easier to jalan-jalan and explore. till next time.
