diving in Yan? is there such thing? (8 - 10 June 2011)

hahaha... marah orang Yan nanti. but seriously.. who goes to Yan to dive? I didn't know I could either until that fateful day when the Northern Divers made a commotion on the BBM group about a dive daytrip. 2 dives plus a chance to hang out with the rest of the Northern Divers I haven't met yet. Who would pass such opportunity kan? *bodek*

anyway it was a "not quite as I hoped for but I was glad I hopped on that plane to be there" kind of trip. You got what I meant?

Bought the ticket last minute..as usual. didn't even book a hotel room as they told me they've got things all sorted out. I didn't even brought any equipment... PL was to lend me everything! Coolness! Sham and Jun came to the airport to pick me up. I have never met anyone before except fuad, mulu, tuan Wan and uncle by then so I was quite nervous! hihi.. :) they took me to Gemilang Burger (i think) and soon, Fazli, Fadzil, Fuad, Tuan Wan, Dikil joined us for supper.. we hung out... bbm-ed each other.. laughed.. and ate.. till about midnight and sham and jun took me to the star city hotel...

The next morning, Jun joined me for breakfast and took me to the jetty. IT WAS FAR! We made a quick stop to this house to get the tanks.

The poor boy had to lift these heavy tanks on his own.. haha :) Then we made it to the jetty. Tok Mulu was waiting for us there. Pak Lah was also there. He lent me his equipment. ♥ Thanks PL!

Darn it .. It was a fishing boat! No stairs.. He had to get them from another boat, and it had to be a broken one :( Have I told you I had my period at the time?? :(

The tuas was far.. really far.. and the visibility was not that good. Plus there were so many big fishes.. I was scared.

The first dive, we didn't catch anything.. there wasn't too many fish pun.. I was quite disappointed. The worst part was to change my tampons in a boat without any toilets :( darn.. i had to use the engine room which was small, and hot. huhu.. what an experience. we then headed to song song island to dive. the dive site was ermm.. interesting. the coral was quite healthy surprisingly and there were plenty of fish and lobsters. but they were small..

we didn't catch any fish also. the fish were just too tiny. so i took a video of the area..

we headed back to the jetty.. i was tired and cold, and tired. we changed into dry clothes and had maggi lunch. i think it was the highlight of the trip. it's maggi soup with chilli sauce.. hahaha so good.. probably coz i was hungry.

i had to stay another night before going back. took a flight from penang to KL. was supposed to come back with Sham. but he canceled.

will i do it again? probably not. unless there's a whale shark there .. maybe then :)

but i had fun. finally met the boys from ND that were and still are the cause of low battery in my BB.

they are indeed the bad kids :)
