girls went nuts in Langkawi (5 - 8th February 2007)

Day 1: Arrival
5th February 2007

we arrived safely. something happened on this day that cannot be shared. not even here. cause we've taken our vows ... biar pecah di perut... that's what we kept saying.. so, i can only say we arrived safely. and the TNB bungalow was perfect. it's a 10 ringgit per night, air conditioned + water heater bungalow. there are only 2 bungalows so, had to book it early. it has three bedrooms. located at pantai tengah. about 10 meters from the waters. so, it's not a long walk. hehehe... kira nya silap2, bangun terus dalam air lah.. best gileee... the caretakers are also really nice. they were nice enough to pick us up and took us to dinner before taking us to the TNB bungalows.

we had dinner at jai's. it's at the pekan kuah. next to the small bridge dunno what for in kuah. nice.. and price is ok lah...

Day 2: Cable car
6th February 2007

the caretakers of the bungalows offered us their assistance in getting ourselves a rental car. wasn't a good idea. it's too expensive. so, we took a cab to the jetty instead. and found ourselves a kelisa at 100 ringgit for 2 days. cool. and no extra charge for the extra 3 hours. huhu.. cool. we found it as soon as we had lunch at kfc. can you believe that they don't have coleslaw there? erkk.. kurang selera makan kfc. huhu.. after a 30 seconds discussion, we decided to head to the cable car as planned since before we arrived.

it's a long drive. and it's really hot in langkawi. so, better prepare yourselves with water and sunblock like all the time u're there. on our way there we stopped at a few places. our first stop was galeria perdana. the entrance fee was 5 ringgit per person. we wanted to see the car collection there. alas, the cars are minimum, and not very interesting. looked at a few tokens by other countries for Dr. M. it was really neat. should go there when u get there.

next stop was kraftangan center. free entrance. the crafts are beautiful. but way too expensive for me. so we just took a stroll at the center. again the weather was scorching hot. i thought i was gonna be ill.

when we arrived at the cable car it was almost 3 pm. the line wasn't long. actually there was no line. the ticket is priced at 15 ringgit per person for malaysians with a valid myKad. for others it's 25 ringgit. they build some kind of a theme park on the ground. but u only have to pay for the activities.. nasib baik.. we went up. took some photos from the top. and went back down. fed the rabbits and deers at the petting zoo. free.. just had to pay 1 ringgit per bag for the food. had fun with them.. they're very hungry! and normi was scared.. hahaha.. and then we went back to the bungalow.

after a cold shower and 5 minute nap, we went out again to pekan kuah.. we shopped for kain batik, and chocolates. and went back to the bungalow. stopped for dinner at restoran haji ramli at pantai cenang. mahal gile!!! jgn pegi lah.. but the waiters to have a crush on us. kept coming to our table.. kacau je :P

Day 3: Island Hopping
7th February 2007

we slept at 3 the night before.. gossip.. biasa lah.. when girls get together.. probably it's more of a meluah perasaan session.. hehehe.. biasa laa... and then in the morning, semua bangun lambat.. the plan was to go out at 8 am for breakfast. and at 8:30 i just got out of the shower. so, eton and aida went out to get some food. why? coz at 9:30, someone was coming to pick us up for island hopping. three places .. costs us RM30 per person. cheap kan?
we went to pulau dayang bunting, eagle feeding and swimming at pulau beras basah. at pulau dayang bunting, we hiked about 50 meters to get to the infamous tasik dayang bunting. it's a large lake, where according to local stories, whoever is hard to conceive, just drink the water from the lake, she'll soon be pregnant. cool kan? normi and i hired a paddle boat at 15 ringgit for half an hour. eton and aida hired a solar boat at 30 ringgit. the difference? they didn't have to paddle their own boat. hehehe... but it was cool. i even took a bottle of water home. it's clean mineral water.. funny.. i don't think there's any living things in there.. weird? ermm.. spooky..

then after about an hour we went for a ten minute session of eagle feeding. tak sure kat mana.. but one of the islands lah.. takut jugak tengok eagles tu.. a funny thing happened to us during our island hopping trip. we got two boats for the activity.. after the first boat sent us to pulau dayang bunting, a new boat came to pick us up.. we thought we're too late and that the boat man left us to rot.. huhu.. takut woo.. rupanya they switched.. cause the first boat guy had to bring another group. and then tengok2 we saw him at the eagle feeding place. hehehe... but the eagles were majestic.. best sangat.... cantik ajee...

afterwards.. we were taken to pulau beras basah. the good thing was that the pulau (island) had the most beautiful beach. the bad thing was tak de toilet.. so, kalau nak membuang, kena la buang masa kat pulau dayang bunting.. erkk... we spent about an hour or so there.. normi and i went swimming the whole time. aida and eton chose not to. heran betul tengok eton.. tak tergoda langsung ke nak mandi cik?? malu kot.. but normi and i had a blast swimming.. main air.. beautiful.. can see through the waters.. best sangat2... i could live here.. seriously!!!

the trip ended at around 1 pm. they sent us back to the bungalow, and we took a quick nap and cold shower. then we went to beras terbakar to look for kain pelekat. heard that there're many souvenirs sold here.. tak best pun. the place was kinda like the streets in thailand. hehehe....



we then spent some time driving around langkawi.. we stopped at tanjung rhu.. we actually wanted to go to pantai pasir hitam.. but couldn't find it. at tanjung rhu the view was fine.. but the smell was horrendous. taik kuda byk plak.. isk isk.. potong stim aje...




then we all lepak kuah again.. and ate at one famous restaurat in kuah, called restoran kampung nelayan. in fact this restaurant was featured in jalan-jalan cari makan. cool ek? murah, sedap.. tapi pedas nak mampus diorang masak sayur.. gileeee... sampai sakit2 perut.. huhu...

Day 4: Going Home
8th February 2007

last day of the trip. was bitter sweet. one hand, couldn't wait to go back home, the other rasa sedih to leave all the fun times we had. early morning, normi, eton and i went to the beach for the last time. we found a few dead jelly fish on the beach.. so, we decided not to swim this time. we had to check out at about 11 am. so, we packed our bags and left.. our flight home was at 5:30. so to kill time, we went shopping at idaman suri. we also went to kuah again.. just to make sure we had everything ;) i didn't spend much at langkawi. but i still had to buy an extra bag for my chocolates. man.. they're heavy! i bought a lot of chocolates.. about 8 pairs of kain batik.. 3 kain pelekats.. 5 t-shirts.. ermm.. byk gak ek? but still tak cukup... cammana tu? tak pe la.. sapa cepat dia dpt ek?



i had a lot of fun in langkawi. will definitely go there again.. maybe this time i'll list the souvenirs first before i do any shopping :D

can't resist those 5 ringgit pepsis.. this time bought tuna and crackers for 6 ringgit too ... hehehehe...
